is an architecture firm based in the city of Barcelona, whose extensive portfolio encompasses urban projects, landscaping, buildings and interior design. We spoke with Joan Batlle Blay, Architect & Landscape Architect and partner at the firm, about the innovations and challenges in his work. Folds, cubes, and sheets of bricks combine in this office building by Mínimo Común, transforming constructive experimentation into a game. In the city of , in the immediate proximity of Asuncion, Paraguay, Mínimo Común Arquitectura completed an office building in which play and gravity challenge are combined in thorough experimentation in the use of brick.
In this house, a large staircase occupies 1/3 of the space, which stretches across the entire East-West axis central to the site, with the living quarter to the North, and an open sunny garden on the South. This glazed and elongated staircase offers up various views and scenery to its inhabitants.
Orchards are the main economic engine in Vega baja (Alicante). Its fruits and vegetables are in almost every house, but also in national and international markets. The central market in is the neuralgic center in this small town from the very beginning of this building, that was a stable until 1950. From that time, it became a central market where market stalls were located around the building perimeter, under the roofed area. The center of the building, opened, were the second square of the town, where people met, make bussines deals... During 1989 the roof was built: a metallic structure in the whole central "square" that allowed to build more market stalls. Thanks to this new structure temperature was nicer inside.
In the southwest of France, facing the Pyrenees Mountain, the “Complexe de la République” built-in 1975 in Pau, had been declining for several years due to the dilapidation of its covered market, flanked by a squat office building in very poor condition. After an international competition, the Ameller Dubois’s studio project was chosen by proposing a global response, taking charge of all the ambitions raised by this operation, both in terms of image and use, architecture, and urban planning, dedicated to the Pau’s population. The project's exceptional location has been rediscovered as a destination, attractive and seductive, to bring the district back to life.
Mysk Al Badayer Retreat" has won the 2020 and 2021 World Luxury Hotel Award for Luxury Desert Resort in the Middle East and North Africa. Located in the southern desert region of along Dubai-Hatta Road, this project has been developed by Investment and Development Authority – Shurooq, and is being operated by Collection by Mysk. The Project was designed by Wael Al-Masri Planners and Architects – WMPA, a Jordanian based consultancy firm, with Wael Al-Masri as its Chief Architect. Design started in January 2012, and project opened to the public in March 2020.
The house is located in the north of Catalonia, among the gentle valleys of the first elevations of the hills between the regions of Pla de l'Estany and Gironès. The house sits on the edge between the hill and the valley with views over a cool and deep ground, surrounded by pine trees and holm oaks.
The housing shortage in big cities. Nowadays, living in big cities is quite expensive, which has already become a global social phenomenon. It is more and more difficult for young people in big cities to own their own residences. Across the world, shared apartments have become one of the answers to settle the problem of housing tension. In London, some shared living brands, such as WeLive、Haven、Common、Ollie、Lyf, and Quarters advocate preserving private bedrooms and sharing kitchen, gym, cinema, and laundry room to maintain a lower rent level. In Manhattan, the former mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, waived some zoning regulations and authorized the construction of the first micro-apartment building of New York—— My Micro NY, as a new model for affordable housing to provide more micro-apartment buildings that young people can afford. In , “Yincheng Kinma Q+ Community” will make some new explorations and strive to create an affordable home for 940 young people who pursue their future here.
The House Acute is a weekender built for a family of 6 on a site abutting the edge of the NSW coastline. The site is exposed to the ocean elements and also sits adjacent to a severe bush-fire-prone coastal bluff. The design and the palette in particular would need to be robust in nature. The site is also a small wedge-shaped, almost unwanted parcel of land, which would also ultimately influence the design. The conceptual approach was therefore to create a wedge-shaped home consisting of two long concrete pavilions lapping over each other on the acute corner.
Conveniently located in a residential neighborhood in downtown , this lot sits between a wide street and a narrow one, with access to both. The design features an alley-like space running through the house and connecting the two streets, which brings flow and freedom of movement into the plan.
The Serena del Mar Center (CHSM) is the first hospital designed by . Focusing on the human being, the concept revolves around the idea that "access to nature and natural light are vital in creating improved therapeutic experiences for patients, families and staff alike". Seeking to provide a sense of well-being that leads to better clinical outcomes, the hospital has started opening in phases to the public, earlier this year. The firm's first project in Latin America is not the only one, in fact, are working on a residential project under construction in Quito, Ecuador, and the , to be inaugurated in early 2022.

has broken ground on One River North, a sixteen-storey residential tower which features a descending nature trail carved into its façade. The project is set to "blur the lines between the built and natural environments" with more than 13,000 sq. ft. of open-air spaces, a water feature, and trail-like walkways, echoing Colorado's rich terrains. The project is expected to be complete towards the end of 2023.

Aedas reveals plans to transform the Pragati Maidan, an important civic space in , into an exhibition and convention centre intended as a new city icon. Transformed into a national exhibition space in 1972, the site located on the bank of Yamuna River and neighbouring a series of cultural and historical venues was the subject of a 2016 international design competition that sought a contemporary upgrade to the programme. ’ and Arcop’s winning project proposes a circular convention centre framed by an extensive landscaped public space, capitalizing on accessibility.
